Geographics was founded in Vancouver, Canada in 1974. After the business moved to Blaine, Washington, in 2002, Geographics became a Royal Consumer Products brand, having been acquired by the parent company, Mafcote Inc, a family business with a tradition of over 100 years, being one of the oldest manufacturer of Royal Lace® paper doilies, and one of the largest paper coating companies in the US.

The Geographics® Brand Image was introduced in 1992. GeoPaper® by Geographics was to become the leader in high-quality desktop publishing paper, sold throughout the United States, Europe and Australia.

GeoPaper® was sold in fine displays in retail stores. The fine stationery paper products and papers became soon, widely available and most desirable as small businesses and institutions who did have a business identity or professionally designed logos could draw attention and brand the business around Geographics business stationery designs that best represented them.
Designer stationery soon became interesting for schools and home users who needed a paper printed with a designs, to enhance their message, something they could personalize and print fast.
The value that a customer got was to grab attention, make a bold statement and create messages that stood out , fast , easy and at an affordable price.
