About PhoneSoap
We’ve been developing UV disinfection devices for nearly a decade. After seeing a TV report in 2011 that the average smartphone was contaminated with fecal matter and other harmful bacteria, we began testing the surfaces of smartphones amidst cancer research and other studies while working towards our undergrad degrees. When we discovered that the TV report had been accurate in its claims, we set out to find a solution.
When thinking about disinfection, most people consider wipes and chemicals, which produce inconsistent and ineffective results. We knew there had to be a better way. Through harnessing the power of UV-C light, we had found the answer to our problem and an idea was born. After much trial and error, we finally landed on the safe and controlled environment that is PhoneSoap. Because keeping your devices clean shouldn’t be a chore, we combined our technology with an essential existing habit – charging your phone.
